ILFORD GALERIE Smooth Fine Art prints will last in excess of 100 years when produced on pigment ink printers. Prints made on dye based printers will last for up to 2 years.

ILFORD GALERIE SMOOTH FINE ART PAPER is a 100% rag, acid free textured matt paper designed for high quality digital fine art reproduction and print applications on today's range of photo-dedicated desktop inkjet printers.

Handling and Storage

Finished prints should be interleaved and stored carefully to prevent scratching. Fine art ink and print surfaces are more delicate than conventional RC inkjet prints and should be handled with care.

Note:

The life expectancy of all inkjet media is influenced by humidity, light and the ink being used. At higher light levels or humidity, one should expect a shorter life expectancy than at low light level or humidity. Some inkjet printer inks also offer poor stability when compared with others. When storing and handling prints at the extremes of the environmental range (<10% r.h. and >70%), performance and permanence may be reduced.

Print lifetimes will be significantly longer when using pigmented inks rather than dye based inks.
