USA, Direct Import, and Warranty

Durable Goods (“Hard Goods”)
A “USA” warranted item is an item with a valid USA manufacturer’s warranty that would be repaired in any manufacturer’s authorized service facility worldwide should the item require in-warranty service.

A “Direct Import” (“grey market”) item requiring in-warranty repair would have to be returned specifically to the dealer or retailer who sold the product. Simply put, “Direct Import” (“grey market”) means that the item is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, because the manufacturer’s licensed or authorized agent or representative did not import that item into the USA and did not sell it to the retailer for resale.

Direct Import (“grey market”) products may look the same, but these products are intended for sale in international markets and not in the United States. Direct Import (“grey market”) products are generally purchased overseas and then shipped to the United States for sale. In some cases the performance guidelines are not the same as those for products specifically designed to be sold in the U.S. For many cameras, camcorders, and similar products there are name and model differences. Distance scales may be in meters rather than feet. There may be differences in circuitry or software, different accessories as well as other product dissimilarities. In most cases, the USA distributor or manufacturer will not support or warrant these products.

Camcor, Inc.® will always provide you with a valid USA manufacturer’s warranty for the durable goods (“hard goods”) you purchase from us. We are authorized dealers for the manufacturers that we represent; therefore, you are ensured of receiving valid USA warranted durable good merchandise.

Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer is often one of the manufacturer’s requirements for warranty registration and warranty repair validation. You have assurance that your manufacturer’s warranty will be honored because Camcor, Inc. is an authorized dealer for the manufacturer’s durable goods products we sell. Consumable Goods (“Soft Goods”)
There are three types of consumable goods (“soft goods”):

1) Domestic products are manufactured in the USA for American distribution,
2) the “Worldwide” market products are intended for sale outside the United States,
3) direct import (“grey market”) products are purchased from a source other than the manufacturer’s licensed or authorized agent or representative.

The domestic products (made for sale in the US) and direct import products (“grey market”) may appear to be the same except for price and availability. There is NO guarantee as to product or suitability of the “grey market.” One must recognize the important issue regarding the handling and storage of the sensitized goods (film, ink, paper, etc.) during transit. In most cases, the USA licensed or authorized distributor or manufacturer will not support or warranty these products.

Consumable Goods – Film
We offer various marketed films to give our customer(s) the informed option of purchasing what they want based on their individual preferences and budget.

We offer various marketing distinctions for Kodak Professional films:

* USA	Manufactured in the USA for domestic distribution.
* USAWW	Film manufactured in the USA for Worldwide distribution.
* Direct Import	Grey

(At the current time we do not offer Kodak Professional Film in the Direct Import variety)

Unless otherwise designated, Kodak Professional films shipped by Camcor, Inc.® will be the “USA” (domestic) variety. “USAWW” and “Direct Import,” when ordered and shipped, will be so indicated.
